Recently 3wYes.com released China Public University Innovation and Entrepreneurial Competitiveness Rankings 2020, among which Southwest Petroleum University ranked 39th nationwide and 3rd in Sichuan universities.
China Public University Innovation and Entrepreneurial Competitiveness Rankings assesses universities by four dimensions, namely entrepreneurial education, campaign, potentials and talents. On the basis of 11 sub-indexes, the amount of entrepreneurship courses, the patent, patent awards, the “challenge cup” national college students' entrepreneurship competition awards, China's "Internet +" college students' innovative undertaking contest winners, national innovation training projects, national university of science and technology parks, graduates engaged in entrepreneurships, chairmen of the mainland listed companies, founders of the overseas listed private enterprises, entrepreneurs on the Forbes Rich List, are referred to for quantifying and ranking the entrepreneurial competitiveness of public universities.
In recent three years, SWPU students have obtained 2473 national patents, participated in provincial and above innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and won more than 390 awards, including 1 national gold award, 5 silver awards and 13 bronze awards in China "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The entrepreneurship rate of graduates remains above 3%. One student has been selected as one of the Top 10 National Entrepreneurship Heroes, and three students have been selected as typical Entrepreneurship figures of the Ministry of Education.（By Xiao Hongyun）
