On June 21, SWPU held the 2019 graduation and degree conferral ceremony. The university leadership, all graduates of the class of 2019, members of the University Degree Evaluation Committee, and representatives from alumni, faculty and parents of graduates attended the ceremony.

SWPU President Dr. Zhao Jinzhou delivered an opening speech titledRun for the Future. Dr. Zhao hoped the students would cherish the time, hold fast to ideals, and pursue a happy life. He said that your alma mater wouldl be always lighting up your way and opening a door to you, and would always be your cozy home.

University secretary of Party Committee Sun Yiping announced the decision on awarding provincial-level outstanding graduates of the class of 2019. University vice secretary of Party Committee and secretary of commission for discipline inspection announced the decision on awarding university-level outstanding graduates of the class of 2019. According to the announcements, 88 students were awarded the “provincial-level outstanding graduate” title and 966 students were awarded the “university-level outstanding graduate” title. Leaders of the university and alumni representatives presented certificates to the students.
Liu Hongtao, a SWPU student from Petroleum Engineering 2002, delivered a speech as a representative for alumni. He hoped young graduates would always remember that they are a member of Southwest Petroleum University, and that they should make contributions to the society and our country.

Li Meili, an Russianl student of Class 2019, gave a speech as a representative for international students. She said, she was delighted to come to China and learn the Chinese language and culture. She expressed her gratitude to the university for letting her understand what she is interested in, and allowing her to perceive the objectives of her life. SWPU imparted her the philosophies of life and encouraged her to move forward.
