Chengdu in April has presented spring everywhere with flourishing green. From the 13thto the 14th, SWPU held the 42ndtrack and field sports meeting on Chengdu campus.
Principal Zhao Jinzhou attended the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech. “The university attaches great importance to athletics and cares for the physical and mental health of faculties and students,” said Zhao, “The university is actively engaged in the reform of public P.E. courses and has gained positive results. The men’s games in this sports meeting are devided into Group A and B with 13 events, the women’s games are also Group A and B with 12 events, and the faculties’ games has 10 events.
After 2 days of intense competition, the first three teams of men are School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, and School of Mechanical Engineering. The first three teams of women are School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and School of Mechanical Engineering.
4 Group A university records have been broken, which are men’s 400 m, women’s long jump, women’s high jump, and men’s 4×100 m.
