報告題目:Role of interfacial rheology on oil mobilization through porous media
報 告 人:Hossein Hejazi 教授
報 告 人:Dr. Hossein Hejazi is a Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary. He holds a Bachelor's and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and earned his Ph.D. in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in 2011. He joined the University of Calgary in 2013 after working in a pioneering oil production company to develop the first class of feasible thermal recovery methods for bitumen recovery from naturally fractured reservoirs. Dr. Hejazi teaches various courses at the University of Calgary, including reservoir engineering, flow in porous media, secondary and tertiary recovery, petroleum production engineering, chemical and petroleum laboratories, and heat transfer.
報告摘要:Interfacial rheology is a powerful technique for quantifying interface properties under shear and extensional flows. In the petroleum industry, interfaces exist everywhere, from the oil displacement in porous media to multiphase flow through the production pipelines and the produced oil, which is mainly in combination with water and solid particles. For instance, in water-based enhanced oil recovery methods, injected water encounters reservoir crude oil at various locations within porous media, forming extensive oil-water and oil-water-solid interfaces. This talk explores the influence of interfacial rheology on pore-scale phenomena contributing to incremental oil recovery, such as snap-off, oil film detachment, and oil-water frontal stability.
