報告內容：First we shall present what it is knownabout the limit cycles of the discontinuous piecewise linear differentialsystems with two pieces separated by a straight line. Second we shall describebriefly four different techniques for computing analytically the limit cyclesof the mentioned discontinuous piecewise linear differential systems, based onthe averaging theory or Melnikov integral, the first integrals, the Poincar′emap, and the Poincar′e map plus the Newton-Kantorovich Theorem.

Prof. Dr. Jaume Llibre，Universitat Aut`onoma de Barcelona Academician，世界著名數學家、西班牙皇家科學院院士，巴塞羅那自治大學Jaume Llibre教授來我校訪問。Jaume Llibre于1979年在西班牙巴塞羅那自治大學（Universitat Aut`onoma deBarcelona）獲得博士學位，2002年評選為西班牙皇家科學院院士。他是動力系統、天體力學領域的國際領軍人物，做出了大量開創性工作和優秀成果，在國際主流期刊發表論文800多篇，出版包括《Qualitative Theory of PlanarDifferential Systems》在內的多部專著，現任SCI期刊《Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems》主編及多個SCI學術期刊的編委。
Professor Jaume Llibre isProfessor of Mathematics in Universitat Aut`onoma de Barcelona, academician ofthe Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences. He is a famous expert in field ofdynamical systems. His main results deal with periodic orbits, topologicalentropy, polynomial vector fields, Hamiltonian systems and celestial mechanics.
