Research on biologically inspired intelligent systems has made significant progress in both understanding the biological systems and developing bionic engineering applications to information processing and systems control. In this talk, I will start with a very brief introduction to some biologically inspired intelligent systems approaches. Then several applications of intelligent systems to biological systems and bio-inspired systems will be briefly presented. After that, I will focus on our current research on bio-inspired intelligent systems with applications to various robotics systems and other engineering systems, including intelligent real-time monitoring and control of livestock odors with a wireless e-noses network system, real-time path planning, tracking and control of autonomous mobile robots; intelligent tomato-harvesting robotic systems, intelligent behavior-based mobile robotic systems, and intelligent cooperation and coordination of multi-robot systems.

楊先一教授,2002年被聘為圭爾夫大學(xué)終生(tenured)教授,2007年被聘為正教授。現(xiàn)任加拿大圭爾夫大學(xué)高級(jí)機(jī)器人與智能系統(tǒng)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任。
楊先一教授研究興趣包括智能控制,智能交通,機(jī)器人學(xué)與自動(dòng)化、信息感知與監(jiān)控,人工智能、通訊系統(tǒng)、控制系統(tǒng)、神經(jīng)網(wǎng)絡(luò)、模糊系統(tǒng)、遺傳算法、仿生學(xué)等以及在工農(nóng)業(yè)和軍事中的應(yīng)用。楊先一教授成功地提出了一個(gè)“受生物啟發(fā)的神經(jīng)網(wǎng)絡(luò)系統(tǒng)(Biologically Inspired Neural Network Framework)”,該系統(tǒng)可用于各種機(jī)器人系統(tǒng)的實(shí)時(shí)環(huán)境感知、路徑規(guī)劃、目標(biāo)跟蹤與智能控制,并發(fā)表了一系列的研究論文(其中20多篇在IEEE Transactions)。因此,他被認(rèn)為是“將受生物啟發(fā)的方法用于機(jī)器人學(xué)與控制系統(tǒng)”的先驅(qū)者之一。他于2002年主編了國(guó)際機(jī)器人與自動(dòng)化(International Journal of Robotics and Automation)期刊的“受生物啟發(fā)的機(jī)器人學(xué)”(Biologically Inspired Robotics)專刊;并在多個(gè)國(guó)際會(huì)議上組織過“受生物啟發(fā)的機(jī)器人學(xué)”專題學(xué)術(shù)討論。他已先后在各種學(xué)術(shù)刊物、國(guó)際會(huì)議及專著上發(fā)表近400篇學(xué)術(shù)論文,其中150多篇被SCI收錄,350多篇被EI收錄(包括同時(shí)被SCI收錄的論文)。
